Odegaard confidence in his defence…

Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard has hit back at claims that the Gunners should be fearful of Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, insisting that respect for the England man is as far as it goes, NBC Sports reports.

Kane infamously boasted a formidable record against Arsenal during his trophyless stint at the club down the road, though he did suffer defeats in both our meetings with the striker last season.

The 30-year-old has scored 38 goals in all competitions this season, though the Champions League represents his last realistic chance of ending his career-long trophy drought.

Odegaard accepted that the England skipper must be treated with respect, but maintained that the team should focus on our qualities if we’re to become victorious on Tuesday night.

Mikel Arteta’s side are the best defensive side in the Premier League this season and are currently on a run of five consecutive clean sheets away from home.

“I think we should of course [we] respect him but I don’t think we should fear anyone,” the Norwegian star explained.

“We have to focus on ourselves and the quality we have in the team. He’s a good player. I have played against him a few times and I know the quality he has, especially in the box, and he’s also good in the link-up.”

The best way to keep Kane and Bayern’s dangerous forwards quiet is to dominate the ball and play the game in their half for as much as possible.

Arsenal only narrowly trail Manchester City for our field tilt percentage in the Premier League season, with 73.64% of our possession coming in the opposition’s final third.

With no away fans in the ground, it will be interesting to see how the atmosphere influences the temp Arteta’s men aim to set from the first minute.
