Arsenal struggling from a lack of stability…

Arsenal are struggling for stability this season, causing a stuttering form as Mikel Arteta’s team struggles to close the gap to league leaders Liverpool.

A 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, having led 2-0, meant that the two points we made on Arne Slot’s side were wiped away in a matter of days.

Arteta went into the game with yet another major injury concern as William Saliba missed the game with a hamstring injury he picked up in the final minutes of Wednesday’s North London Derby.

It has been the story of our Premier League campaign and is highlighted by the graphic below, illustrating that we are fourth in the league in terms of injuries causing players to miss more than one game.

The teams around us in that injury table are having poor campaigns and are very far from achieving their pre-season aims while we’re still in touching distance of top spot.

A glance towards the bottom of the table above and you’ll find the two teams competing with us at the top of the table with Liverpool and Nottingham Forest enjoying the most consistency in terms of availability.

While having to change the team consistently will affect a potential title charge, it doesn’t mean it’s fine for you to be dumped out of cup competitions and that’s where Arteta continues to fall short.

We’re on the brink of exiting both domestic cup competitions as a daunting task at St James’s Park beckons, while our history in the Champions League doesn’t inspire belief.
