Arsenal star Theo Walcott has broken the record for the ‘Ultimate Control Challenge’, with the Arsenal man taking the controlling and keeping up a ball thrown from 34 metres up.

Organised by Betfair, Walcott took part alongside Nacho Monreal, Francis Coquelin and Laurent Koscielny, and the boys were marshalled by Gunners legend Ray Parlour.

The lineup chosen for the task is slightly odd at first glance given that they’re not traditionally known for their tremendous touch, but Walcott certainly proved many doubters wrong.

“To beat the distance with the crane you need a super touch,” Wenger said when asked about Walcott’s achievement (via the Mirror).

“He has great focus and capacity.”

Walcott is currently our second-highest scorer this season behind Alexis Sanchez and seems to have an added focus to kick-on this season.
