Rob Holding will be out for a considerable amount of time…

Arsenal defender Rob Holding has indeed suffered a ruptured cruciate knee ligament injury, confirming Unai Emery’s worst fears following the game at Old Trafford, the club has confirmed.

Holding was involved in a clash with Marcus Rashford by the touchline as the Man United man crashed into Holding’s planted leg, and the 23-year-old dropped to the floor in anguish.

Emery was a foot away from the incident and it seems even he knew immediately that it was a serious problem, and that’s now been confirmed by the club.

According to a club statement, Holding will now be out for a standard six to nine months period and will undergo surgery in the coming days.

Holding becomes the second player this season who’s suffered a season-ending injury after Danny Welbeck’s fractured and dislocated ankle injury last month.

This setback comes at an unfortunate time for Holding who’s been our most consistent defender this term and was starting to blossom into the defender we all hoped he’d become.

Hopefully, he comes back stronger than before.
