Arsene Wenger acknowledges chants…

Arsene Wenger was asked about the Arsenal fans who sang his name at the end of the win against West Ham United as we ended our horrific run in the Premier League.

Wenger has been under tremendous pressure during the past few weeks as we failed to register a victory in almost two months against a team that weren’t in the Nationa League.

As we slipped to sixth in the Premier League, a win against West Ham was an absolute must and the boys delivered with a handsome 3-0 victory.

Some fans stayed behind after full time to show their appreciation for the boss, and he was thankful for that.

“I’m happy when people are happy,” Wenger told the press after the game.

“When you’re such a long time at the club, you care really about people who care about the club and you know how sad they are when it doesn’t go well.”

I’m not sure if anyone can realistically ridicule Wenger’s commitment and love for Arsenal Football Club, but it may be that level of attachment which eventually leads to his downfall.

We’ve all been under the impression that when the boss realises that he can no longer take us forward, he would proudly step aside for a new manager to take over.

However, if reports are to be believed, Wenger wants to extend his contract by another two years despite currently going through his worse period as Arsenal manager.

It’s now up to the Arsenal board to stand up and finally make a decision which we most people accept should be taken out of the Frenchman’s hands.

Check out his full press conference in the video above.
