Arsene Wenger Blamed The Media For Turning Fans Against The Team

Arsene Wenger hits at out the media…

Arsene Wenger told the media that they’ve done “a good job” with turning fans against the team which has resulted in the current eerie mood in the stands.

The boss has experienced a cold relationship with the fans for a few years, though it came to a head last season as he entered the final months of his contract.

The uncertainty trickled onto the pitch and we suffered heavily in the second part of last season, crashing out of the Champions League and the title race in embarrassing fashion.

Despite mass calls for him to walk at the end of his contract, Wenger decided to extend for another two years, risking mutiny in the stands if it didn’t go well.

And, with three games gone in the new campaign, we’ve started the season terribly, though the boss feels it’s the press who’ve manipulated the fans.

“You work very hard to get our fans on our back!” Wenger said in his pre-match press conference ahead of the visit of Bournemouth.

“I believe our fans are naturally with us, and that they were disappointed is completely normal.

“But situations like that are a good opportunity as well to show that we are strong and united.”

It’s been a consistent theme Wenger has reverted to over the years, but it’s rather patronising to us fans.

We don’t need the media to tell us that things are seriously wrong at the club, our display at Liverpool was there for all to see.
