Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed that we’re interested in Monaco’s wonder kid Kylian Mbappé who has been likened to Thierry Henry due to his playing style.

Speaking to beinSPORTS about the 18-year-old, Wenger said that we’re following his progress and cosigned the opinion that the youngster does have similar qualities to Henry.

Mbappé has beaten a number of records held by the Arsenal icon at Monaco and has now become the youngest player to bag a hat-trick in Ligue 1 for Monaco.

Any deal will certainly involve a lot of numbers given Monaco’s negotiation tactics in the past, and Wenger hinted that a move may be forthcoming.

“The potential is similar,” Wenger admitted.

“Of course we follow him, we know him very well. He extended his contract last season, so Monaco will decide his future.

“He could be another Thierry Henry.”

Despite Wenger’s open admiration for the youngster, he has missed out on a lot of talent from France over the past decade and his own future seems the first priority before we look at potential arrivals.
