Arsene Wenger addressed the home crowd for the final time…

Arsene Wenger sent tears streaming down the faces of some fans inside the Emirates Stadium as he addressed the home crowd for the final time as Arsenal boss.

Following a very comfortable 5-0 win against Burnley to end what’s been a very impressive season at home in the Premier League, the day became about celebrating our greatest ever manager.

A few ex-players were in attendance; including ‘Invincibles’ Freddi Ljungberg, Robert Pires, Sol Campbell and Nwankwo Kanu. A guard of honour was assembled as the boss re-emerged from the dressing room for the final time at the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger started his farewell speech with a classy message for his friend and old foe Sir Alex Ferguson, who’s currently in hospital after suffering a brain haemorrhage.

“Before I start, I just want to say at Arsenal we care and I would like to wish my fellow manager Alex Ferguson well.”

The Frenchman went on to reinstate his love for the “values” our club defends and that coming to see Arsenal was a relief from the struggles normal people go through throughout the week.

Wenger also implored on the fans to continue to support the current group of players despite a disappointing season, claiming that they are a special group capable of competing for the biggest trophies.

After thanking the club for putting up with him all these years Wenger set the tears flowing with a simple final message:

“I would like to finish in one simple sentence: I will miss you. Thank you all for having such an important part of my life, thank you all, well done, bye bye.”

Check out his farewell speech in full in the video above.
