Arsene Wenger On His Future: It’s Not Just Down To Me

Arsene Wenger on his future…

Arsene Wenger finally spoke about his future at length with BT Sport with the Arsenal boss seemingly putting the ball firmly in the board’s court.

Reports are rife that there remains a two-year deal on the table for the Frenchman, but it’s believed that final decision will be down to him if he signs it or not.

While that may have been an honourable scenario given his service to the club, nobody could’ve foreseen our current form with the team in freefall.

We’ve lost four of our last six games, with our only wins in that period coming against Hull City and Sutton.

“That’s not factually correct,” Wenger replied when asked if his future will be solely decided by him.

“I respect my contracts, and what is surprising is that people are surprised by that.

“After my future is not only down to me, it’s down to the board and the owner of the club.”

If that’s not a forehand smash towards the board, I don’t know what is. Wenger is almost daring them to show some leadership and make a decision on his future for him.

Even if there’s a realisation inside the club that Wenger will leave, the noises about us searching for a replacement seem non-existent.

We desperately need someone to clarify the future of our club.
