Arsene Wenger Has His Say On Hale End Duo

Wenger happy to see rise of Hale End duo…

Former Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has broken his silence on the latest superstars to emerge from the club’s academy and spoke on how proud he is to see the tradition continue, ECA Europe reports.

Speaking at a sporting conference during the international break, the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri was on the agenda.

The former has become our first-choice left-back this season, ousting summer signing Riccardo Calafiori who was brought in for €50 million.

Lewis-Skelly’s form has been noticed across the globe with the 18-year-old being handed his first England call-up by Thomas Tuchel ahead of this month’s World Cup qualifiers.

Nwaneri has been a revelation in the forward line and at a time where we’ve been searching for a Bukayo Saka understudy, the 17-year-old stepped up massively.

“That’s part of the DNA of the club, I’m happy these values continue,” Wenger said about the Hale End starlets.

“What I think is that the academy is doing a fantastic job because Nwaneri is very exciting.

“I don’t speak about Saka because he’s a world-class player already, Lewis-Skelly is already in the English national team. I love that.

“I’m very happy that this integration of the top level players at a young age is happening at Arsenal.”

It remains to be seen how much money the duo has saved the club in the upcoming transfer market, with Mikel Arteta able to say we’ve bolstered the squad without spending a penny on transfer fees.

Left-back has been a problem position during the Spaniard’s tenure and the fact that his ideal profile for that position has been under his nose this whole time is rather amusing.
