Arsene Wenger hints at no new arrivals ahead of Liverpool game…
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hinted that we’re unlikely to see any new arrivals before the season’s opener against Liverpool after stating that his focus was on those that are present at London Colney.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, Wenger was asked what the pre-season routine would consist of following a major international tournament and he clarified where his mindset is currently at.
A number of first-team stars have already begun training, with those eliminated from the European Championships at an early stage to join imminently, and those are the players that will start against Liverpool.
When asked what his plan was, Wenger replied: “To focus on the players who are here, because they are certainly the players who will start the season.”
It is hard to determine if Wenger is factoring in the transfer market, but given the little movement we’ve seen thus far, it would be fair to assume that the boss is planning to name an XI to start vs Liverpool from those present at the training ground.
Would you be happy to start as we are against Liverpool, or are new arrivals paramount to our kick-off?
