Arsene Wenger says Arsenal aren’t done in the window…

Arsene Wenger has assured fans that we are still active on the market as the boss looks to further strengthen the squad following the arrivals of Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac.

The scrutiny on Wenger this season will be unlike he has witnessed in previous years after he went against the wishes of many fans and extended his contract by another two years.

Calls for him to walk last summer were unprecedented, and failure to do so will have many looking to see if the club implement any visible changes.

We’ve seen some backroom changes in the staff, as well as the club breaking our transfer record with the signing of Lacazette this month.

However, with the links to Monaco’s Thomas Lemar refusing to go away, the boss said we’re far from done this window and are prepared to complete a deal at any time.

“What’s next is to remain active,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.

“I believe there are actually two ways to improve the team. First of all to improve the quality of what we do in training to improve the squad and improve the players we have, and secondly to bring more top-level players in.

“So there is a huge inflation. But we are active, we are working hard and I think we have done well with Kolasinac, we have done well with Lacazette and we are continuing to work.”

It never seems like Wenger is anxious to go into a season under-strengthed, and one hopes he has actual targets he’s pursuing rather than passively waiting for an opportunity to land on his lap.
