Arsene Wenger has been speaking to Arsenal Player about the importance of being a coach and hailed the influence of the late Johann Cruyff on his managerial career.

Wenger referred to Cruyff as the leader of the “Dutch school” – a philosophy which has birthed the success of a number of top European clubs.

“I had a big respect for the Dutch school, Johann Cruyff especially,” Wenger said.

‘Let’s not forget that he’s the product of a school in Holland.”

Wenger’s arguably the most stubborn coach in the world and while single-mindedness is a quality every top coach needs to acquire, there also needs to a balance whereby advice from others are taken on board.
