“It’s Not Ideal” – Arsene Wenger On Jack Wilshere’s Ice Skating Trip

By The Editor
on 6th December 2017

Jack Wilshere promoted his trip to the ice skating rink on Instagram…

Arsene Wenger addressed the recent Instagram post uploaded by Arsenal star Jack Wilshere in which he went ice skating with his family.

Wilshere almost preemptively mentioned his injury record in the caption, which rather softened the reaction given the 25-year-old poor injury record.

Wilshere has suffered a number of impact injuries, some from rather innocuous challenges, so the thought of him crashing onto the rock-ice surface doesn’t bear thinking about.

Ahead of our final Europa League game against BATE Borisov in which Wilshere is expected to start, the boss spoke on the image which surfaced online.

“It’s not ideal, honestly, but for your balance, it is not bad,” Wenger told reporters ahead of Thursday’s match.

“For a footballer, I don’t think it is great but it depends what you do.

“You can do ice skating and make sure nothing happens. Ice skating violently, I don’t think he did that.”

Wilshere has started all but one of our Europa League games this campaign, a competition in which he’s attempted to use to prove his long-term fitness to Wenger.

The end goal is for the playmaker to make it into the Premier League on a weekly basis and attempt to force his way back into Gareth Southgate’s England plans ahead of the World Cup.
