Wenger’s Bournemouth praise…
Arsene Wenger praised Bournemouth highly after Eddie Howe’s side gave us a tough game at Emirates Stadium on Sunday where we eventually ran our 3-1 winners.
The south-coast side dominated possession towards the end of the first-half and had us on the ropes after Callum Wilson converted a controversial penalty.
Jack Wilshere was in the stands watching on with split loyalties, and Wenger believes that we made the right decision in sending the 24-year-old to Bournemouth given their performance at the Emirates.
Asked if Wilshere is in safe hands with Bournemouth, Wenger replied: “In very safe hands.
“They are a top side. I never forget that when they came up, in the Championship they scored over 100 goals, that is never a coincidence.”
Howe has been constantly linked with the Arsenal job as Wenger’s eventual successor and if the game on Sunday was his audition, he didn’t do his chances any harm.
