Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger named Dennis Bergkamp as the most technical player he’s managed in his career as the Frenchman stepped into the ‘Rapid Fire’ booth.

In a special episode hosted by our sponsors Fly Emirates, Wenger was accompanied by skipper Per Mertesacker as the two traded questions about a range of topics.

It really was a fascinating watch, but it was Wenger’s lack of hesitance to name Bergkamp as his most technical player which may have caused some intrigue.

Bergkamp is an obvious answer and is supremely gifted, but Wenger had previously made a habit of not singling out any player he’s managed, whether it was in a positive or negative light.

He’s often dodged such question and spoken of his gratitude to every player he’s managed, but he finally cracked under Mertesacker’s pressure.

The man known as the Iceman netted 122 times for us, lifting three league titles and four FA Cups in an 11-year career; with many regarding him as our greatest ever player.
