Arsene Wenger has some words of wisdom for aspiring coaches…
As he takes his position as the godfather of football following his departure from Arsenal, Arsene Wenger is finally looking back on what has been a stellar career.
It’s something he was reluctant to do while still in his post at the club and while he’s yet to announce his next career move, Wenger is doing a lot of reflecting.
Sitting down with his employers at beIN Sports, Wenger was asked what he would advise young coaches coming into the game and in particular his former players.
“I must say I met so many players who had the potential to manage,” Wenger told beIN Sports.
“They have good knowledge of the game, they are intelligent, they are winners.
"This is a job where you need to sacrifice your life."

“But, at the end of the day, there’s another question you have to ask and answer yourself: ‘do I want to sacrifice my life for that?’.
“This is a job where you need to sacrifice your life if you want to do it well.”
If reports are to be believed, Wenger was very nearly succeeded by a former player of his, with Mikel Arteta regarded as a shoe-in before Unai Emery was handed the job.
As he prepares for Russia 2018, Wenger is still pondering his next move within the football industry.
