Arsene Wenger On His Future: I Only Want To Do What’s Best For The Club

Arsene Wenger coy on his future…

Arsene Wenger stressed that he only wants what’s best for Arsenal Football Club when asked about his future after our final league game of the season against Everton

After we solidified our place in next season’s Europa League, Wenger praised the players for performing this season in such difficult environments.

However, the reporter clearly wanted Wenger to make a statement on his future, yet the Frenchman refrained and instead challenged the critics to question his love for the club.

While some experts feel Wenger’s future is sealed and that he’ll extend his contract by another few years, he revealed that his future will be decided after the FA Cup final.

“We’ll sit together after the cup final and see where we go,” Wenger told Sky Sports.

“My commitment and my loyalty and my love for this club cannot be questioned because I’ve said no to many clubs during my career here.

“I want always to do what’s best for this club.”

If, as many believe, the best thing for the club is for Wenger to depart, it’s hard for me to see him realising that and just walking away rather abruptly.

Wenger, quite noticeably, didn’t come out with the rest of the team for the usual lap of honour and the end of the season, indicating that he’s well aware that a large portion of the fanbase doesn’t want him here.

If that’s the case, it’s quite difficult to understand how he extends his deal in such an environment.
