Arsene Wenger shoots down Alexis Sanchez to PSG rumours…

Arsene Wenger has once again rubbished talk of an impending move for Alexis Sanchez to Paris Saint-Germain and has reasserted the club’s desire to keep the Chilean.

Reports from France claimed that Alexis’ agent had been in Paris with his client to seal a deal to the French capital, something that came quite as a surprise.

The former Ligue 1 champions are also being heavily linked with Neymar and it seems they’re desperate to land a marquee name this summer and are going about it in an erratic manner.

Alexis has so far refused to extend his contract which expires in 12 months, and refusal to sell him this summer would mean that the club are prepared to lose him on a free next season.

Days after stating that a decision as been made on Alexis, Wenger had to clarify once again that it doesn’t matter where the club interested in the 28-year-old is located, Alexis will stay.

“It’s only media imagination,” Wenger said about the Alexis to PSG rumours.

On if it made any difference that a foreign club is now interested in Alexis, the boss stated: “No, it doesn’t make any difference.”

This is a huge call for the club to make and one that they’ve ultimately allowed themselves to get into, and now there should be an official statement to draw a line on the subject and have the focus solely on the football.
