Arsene Wenger refutes Alexis Sanchez bust-up rumours…

Arsene Wenger shut down rumours of a rift with forward Alexis Sanchez after he dropped him to the bench against Liverpool in our 3-1 defeat.

Heading into a must-win encounter to salvage any hope of winning the league, Wenger relegated our player of the season so far to the bench.

Alexis has netted 17 goals in the Premier League this season, and rumours quickly surfaced that there was a training ground incident which forced Wenger’s decision.

However, the boss laughed off those rumours and made it clear that it will play no part in Alexis’s future.

“Yes, [reports of a falling out with Sanchez are] completely false,” Wenger told reporters.

“I understand you have to fill newspapers and I respect that. We have to accept that.

This is normal [that there are rumours about his future], like with all players,” Wenger went on to say.

“Alexis Sanchez has 15 months on his contract so the decision on whether he is here will depend on Arsenal Football Club.”
