Arsene Wenger eager to protect Arsenal’s values…

Arsene Wenger believes that supporting Arsenal comes with the value of giving back to the less fortunate as the club celebrated another charity ball at the Emirates Stadium.

While many clubs host end of season award nights, Wenger’s disdain for personal accolades has meant that at Arsenal we do things a little differently.

Each year, the club partners up with a charity and uses this charity ball to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for a specific project through donations, an auction and other means.

For Wenger, holding such values is part of the fabric of being an Arsenal fan.

“We are, as well, Arsenal supporters and to be an Arsenal supporter is to share the values of the club,” the boss told Arsenal Player.

“To help people who are in less privileged positions is for us an important quality for a football club.”

The clip also showed that Wenger was joined by his partner Annie, who many reported had split from the Frenchman in 2015 – which is clearly false.

Ivan Gazidis revealed that even before the end of season event, the club had raised £1.5m for Save The Children throughout the season for their various projects.

I, for one, am proud to support a club that makes it its business to actively aid those less fortunate than ourselves given the massive amount of money flooding through football.

Check out the highlights from the charity ball in the video above.
