Arsene Wenger: I Will Always Support Arsenal & Wish Them Well When I’m Gone

Arsene Wenger says he’ll forever be an Arsenal supporter…

Arsene Wenger may have dropped a hint for the first time that his tenure at Arsenal could be over this summer after being asked about his future once again in his post-match press conference.

Following our 2-2 draw at home to Manchester City, Wenger could finally dissect a Premier League game in which we weren’t defeated for the first time since February.

However, a draw leaves us no closer to the top four and the sharp focus on Wenger’s future was finally brought up right at the end of the press conference as he was asked if bringing in new blood alongside him would soften an announcement that he’s set to stay.

“I’m here for 20 years and I’ve shown one thing – that’s complete loyalty to this club,” Wenger said.

“I will always support this club and wish them well after me… that it goes very well – and even much better!

It really does seem that the delay in announcing Wenger’s future is coming from the board and their uncertainty as to whether they’re embarking on the right decision.

What separates this contractual situation from previous ones is that Wenger is 67-years-old and if he’s not replaced this summer, then they’ll certainly have to contemplate it imminently.

And, given that the results are not improving and that many of our first-team stars look like they want to jump ship, maybe it is the right time to make the inevitable happen?
