Arsene Wenger Will Defy Fans & Extend His Contract, According To French Journalist

By The Editor
on 8th February 2017

Julien Laurens on Arsene Wenger…

French journalist Julien Laurens believes that despite all the negative energy surrounding Arsene Wenger at the moment, the Arsenal boss will still extend his contract at the end of the season.

Wenger has repeatedly said that he’ll make a decision on his future in March or April, and nobody is currently aware as to what he’ll decide to do.

While many Arsenal fans call on the board to make a decision for the Frenchman, it remains likely that his future will be solely decided by him.

ESPN FC report that there is a two-year deal on the table for Wenger and Julien believes that his compatriot is doing what is expected of him by merely qualifying for the Champions League and so will likely stay on.

“I think if it’s down to him he will sign,” The French football expert says.

“He still thinks he has a lot to offer to this club and to this squad of players, whether Ozil or Alexis Sanchez stay or not.”

It’s always hard to see a manager walk away when he’s given the freedom to assess his own performances before making a decision, which is why many can’t see Wenger leaving.

However, even the most stubborn of men can’t ignore the heat coming from our fans with a significant majority calling on Wenger to save his legacy and walk away.
