Arsene Wenger has continued his crusade against certain Premier League clubs taking their foot off the gas with a message to Middlesbrough and Watford.

Following our 2-0 win against relegated Sunderland, Wenger wants the aforementioned teams to take a leaf out of their book and put the effort in to give their opponents a game.

Middlesbrough travel to Anfield on the final day, while Watford host Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The Arsenal boss felt Sunderland remained dangerous against us, despite the fact that they’re already relegated to the Championship.

Liverpool face a similar task against Middlesbrough, and Wenger had a message for them.

“What you want is that everybody fights like Sunderland did tonight, and then you accept your result,” Wenger told Sky Sports.

“Sunderland, I must say, you have to give them credit, they did tackle for every single ball.

“They did really have a fight.”

Wenger annoyed a few managers this week, including Pep Guardiola, with his comments about certain teams being on holiday after Liverpool cruised to a 4-0 win at West Ham United at the weekend.

While he may have a point, we’ve also benefited from such a theory given how little a resistance Southampton, Manchester United and Stoke City put up.

Check out his full post-match interview in the video above.
