Bukayo Saka is focusing on himself…

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has made it clear that he’s focused on reaching the personal targets he set for himself at the start of the season and isn’t worried about comparisons made with other forwards, NBC Sports reports.

Saka reached double figures in terms of Premier League goals for the third season in succession during our win at West Ham, highlighting his rise as one of the league’s most devastating forwards.

The 22-year-old also notched another milestone on Sunday afternoon, reaching 50 goals for the club – becoming the youngest to reach that feat since Frank Stapleton.

Saka has been the subject of many debates online, pitting him against other attacking in a bid to create ‘engaging content’, though that isn’t what motivates the England star.

The Hale End graduate has, privately, set himself personal goals he wants to reach in terms of his performances on the pitch and he’s happy with the brace he bagged at the London Stadium.

“We knew this was a big game and it was really important for us to win and make a statement,” Saka said.

“We did really well scoring six and keeping a clean sheet. Of course, I have my own targets [for how many goals I want to score]. I know these days the media like to compare players,” the winder added when asked about the likes of Mohamed Salah.

“I just stay in my own lane and stay focused on what I want to achieve, and what I wanted to achieve at the start of the season. I’m still going and I have got quite a few more to go.”

Being pitted against a player who’s 10 years his senior demonstrates how far Saka has removed himself from other players in his age bracket.

The level of consistency he’s shown over the past three seasons has been remarkable and as he embarks on yet another ‘double-double’ campaign, Saka will be hoping to crown his personal goals by lifting major trophies for Arsenal.
