Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka ended the game with the armband…

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka provided his post-match thoughts following our 2-2 draw against Chelsea which ended with the 22-year-old wearing the captain’s armband.

Saka returned to the starting lineup following a few weeks out with a hamstring injury and he certainly worked his way into the game after a tough start.

The England star was given some rough treatment from Marc Cucurella, with the former Brighton man given free rein to do as he pleased by the officials.

Saka, as we’ve come to learn, is a tough cookie and knows that he only needs a moment to decide the game, and that came in the 85th minute.

The Hale-End graduate used the decoy run from Ben White to cut inside and send a wonderful ball to the back post which found the reliable Leandro Trossard.

That goal saw us snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat having performed rather poorly on a wet and windy night in west London.

Saka was given the armband after Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Jesus were substituted as we chased an equaliser, a symbol of his rising status within the squad.

Check out Saka’s reaction to wearing the armband for the first time below, as well as his message to the fans in the aftermath of Saturday’s London derby.
