Bukayo Saka not interested in the noise…

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is taking little notice of the external criticism of our performance at Manchester City last season ahead of our trip to the Etihad Stadium, the Independent reports.

Mikel Arteta’s side stopped a run of eight consecutive defeats at Manchester City by walking away with a point and stopping Pep Guardiola’s men from scoring at home for almost three years.

However, despite us being the away side, Arsenal came out of the game to a barrage of negative opinions which only continued once the champions retained their title for a fourth time.

As far as onlookers were concerned, you can only win a league title against Manchester City if you go to their ground and win – a feat never achieved by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Now, with the corresponding fixture set to kick-off, Saka fires back at the critics.

“To be honest, I don’t really care,” the 23-year-old said when asked about the naysayers.

“We know what we believed, we know what we went there to achieve. Only we know the real truth. We went there to win and we are going to do that again this Sunday.”

Arsenal fans continue to be called paranoid yet we hear narratives that are only reserved for us being perpetrated across the British press.

We didn’t lose the league last season because we drew at Manchester City. Losing to Aston Villa in April lost us the league. Dropping five points to Fulham lost us the league. Being robbed at St James’s Park lost us the league.

The champions are on a sensational unbeaten run at home in the Premier League and nicking three points while playing in a similar style to last season would be so sweet.
