Bukayo Saka is in a rich vein of form…
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka stated that he won’t be getting complacent with his rich vein of form and vows to continue striving for perfection.
The 23-year-old produced yet another virtuoso display at the London Stadium as he provided two assists and added another goal in a 5-2 victory.
Saka’s season has been stuttered due to a combination of injuries, international commitments and the team’s overall form.
Having been unavailable for England’s games in November due to a thigh injury, those two weeks have done the winger a world of good. Saka, alongside Declan Rice, looks revitalised.
Mikel Arteta often speaks about the importance of momentum when aiming to clinch a Premier League title and it’s a word Saka echoes when describing the team’s current condition.
“I’m happy so far but you know, I have to keep going,” Saka told Arsenal Media after the thrashing of West Ham.
“I can’t get complacent. It’s a long season and we’re only in November so, I need to continue like this.
“It was a lot of fun, [we scored] a lot of goals and, yeah, we enjoyed it.
“We’ve been playing like that the last few games, scoring a lot of goals. We’re in good form, good confidence and we’re enjoying our football.”
“We’ve built a lot of momentum now, we’ve played really well the last three games, not just the results were good but also the way we played so we’re happy, we’re confident and we’re going to take it into the next game which, we know is a big one,” the Hale End graduate added.
The next one is the visit of Manchester United to the Emirates Stadium and Saka has a fantastic record against the Red Devils, having previously equalled Thierry Henry’s record of scoring in three consecutive games against the Reds.
It does seem that our season usually gets a big boost when we win a big game at home and with the fixtures not allowing us too many opportunities to send the Emirates faithful wild, Wednesday night could be the time.
With Liverpool facing trips to Newcastle United and Everton in a matter of days, Arteta’s boys must continue to position themselves to take advantage of any slip-up.
