Chile boss Juan Antonio Pizzi believes that many clubs would like to have Alexis Sanchez in their team, though he sought to remind his player that he already represents one of the world’s biggest clubs.
Alexis has been the centre of much speculation this summer given his reluctance to commit his future to Arsenal and sign a long-term contract.
His current deal expires in 12 months, along with a number of our other top players, yet he hasn’t given any indication as to where his future lies.
The 28-year-old is currently away in Russia preparing for a Confederation’s Cup semi-final against Portugal, and will only reveal his intentions after that tournament.
Having won back-to-back Copa America’s in successive summers, Alexis is looking to make it a straight hat-trick of medals for his national side.
“We think he’s very happy, he’s given me his best like everyone else,” Pizzi told the press.
“Everybody would like to be at the best clubs in the world, he’s already at one.
“He’s very focused and knows exactly what he has to do.”
Alexis has made no secret of the fact that ambition to win the biggest trophies remains central to any future plans, as he grows frustrated at our inability to win the Premier League or compete in Europe.
We haven’t even qualified for Europe’s premier competition this time, and Alexis doesn’t look like a player who’ll settle for the Europa League.
He’s won two FA Cups and a Community Shield during his time at Arsenal, but the Chilean wants more.
