Clarence Seedorf is an Arteta fan…

AC Milan icon Clarence Seedorf believes Arsenal have the right man at the helm to disrupt Manchester City’s dominance following our 2-0 win against Paris Saint-Germain, he told Prime Video.

Arteta guided the team to a comfortable 2-0 win in our second game in the Champions League’s new format which stands us in good stead as we look to finish in the top-eight.

16 points is said to be the target to aim for to seek automatic qualification to the round of 16 and avoid two extra playoff games in February.

Goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka saw us claim all three points having now chalked off two of our toughest fixtures from pot one and two.

However, when discussing if we can go all the way in the big competitions, Seedorf believes there’s still an obstacle in Arsenal’s way that Arteta must identify.

‘Today PSG were not at their best but against another team you can suffer and they might score goals against you and the whole plan changes. But I believe they are a contender,” Seedorf said in post-match analysis.

“I believe that Arsenal want it. Of course they have it in their belly, but two years it was right there and didn’t happen.

“So there has to be something that they need to tweak to get over that fear of winning. But I think they have the right coach. I’m sure they’ve learnt from the past.”

It’s often overlooked that last season was Arteta’s first in the Champions League as Gunners boss and, despite being placed in pot two, topped the group and reached the quarter-finals.

Losing 3-2 on aggregate to Bayern Munich is no disgrace and once you reach those latter stages, it’s often as much about luck as it is quality.

Our next two fixtures complete the pot one and two options we were drawn against in Shakhtar Donetsk and Inter Milan.
