Claudio Ranieri believes that Arsene Wenger is the man to listen to when it comes to predicting the points tally the potential champions will need this season.
During his press conference this week, Ranieri was asked about Wenger’s prediction that 82-86 points could win a team the title this season.
While Ranieri shared a different view – mainly that the competitiveness of the league may result in a low tally winning the league – he stated that Wenger was “boss” in this occasion.
“When there are so many teams (fighting for the title), maybe it can go down,” The former Chelsea boss pondered.
“If Arsene says 86, then he is right. He is the boss.”
When a reporter pointed out that Ranieri had won the title more recently than the Arsenal boss, the Italian said that 20-years in the top flight gives him the right to make such predictions.
The two have always held a good rapport and Ranieri was a worthy Premier League champion, proving that you can indeed win the biggest of honours while being a class act.
