Craig Burley laments Arsene Wenger…
ESPN pundit Craig Burley believes that Arsene Wenger is no longer able to lead Arsenal Football Club and has called on the club to target Eddie Howe.
Speaking on our 3-3 draw at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday night, Burley stressed that Arsenal showed weaknesses that have been prevalent for 12 years.
Wenger is out of contract this summer and his given little indication that he intends to extend his deal and the club find itself in a similar situation to what we experienced in 2014.
“I think we are potentially looking at the next Arsenal manager,” Burley said about Howe.
“If they want to go young, and English and not foreign. Because I think the guy on the other side, Wenger, I think his time’s up.”
The boss had hinted on many occasions that he would’ve walked away from Arsenal had we lost the FA Cup final in 2014, proving that his decision to leave can hinge on just one game.
After 20 years at the club, Wenger may feel he can take us no further if he doesn’t get close to winning the title this season.
