Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck reiterated that he’ll continue to celebrate if he scores against Manchester United after describing matches against them as “just business.”
Welbeck headed home our second against Jose Mourinho’s men to give us a comfortable win in the end, his third against Man United since joining us in 2014.
While he admitted that his hometown club will forever have a special place in his heart, he reminded them that there can be no favours once he crosses the white line.
“I grew up there and it’s a special place in my life, but once we get on that pitch it’s just business at the end of the day,” Welbeck told Sky Sports.
“When you score you’ve got to be happy. It’s only normal.”
Welbeck seems our best option as a lone striker in the 3-4-3 system given how isolated it leaves the frontman at times during the game.
The 26-year-old is our most powerful and pacey forward and is capable of dragging defenders out wide which creates spaces for our other forwards.
Finishing has always been the one question mark in Welbeck’s repertoire, yet he’s certainly improved on that since he joined us.
Check out his post-match interview alongside man of the match Aaron Ramsey in the video above.
