Eddie Nketiah continues to shine in the Carabao Cup…

Eddie Nketiah netted the opener for Leeds United in their 3-0 win against Salford City in the Carabao Cup 43 minutes into his debut following his deadline day loan move.

Nketiah, who made his name in this competition for us against Norwich, bagging a brace to win us the tie in 2017 after coming on as a late substitute.

The 18-year-old, who enjoyed a productive pre-season, was granted a loan to promotion-chasing Leeds United as the window slammed shut in order to give him regular first-team football.

Nketiah joins an extended list of Hale End graduates who’re on the fringes of the senior squad and have the ability to go all the way.

Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson, Tyrese John-Jules, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have remained at the club with the former duo starting our opening Premier League game at Newcastle United.

Many regular observers of the youth team believe we’ve never had a generation this talented emerge at one time and with the added support of Freddie Ljungberg, a clear pathway to the first-team has been created.

Also, as demonstrated by the shock deadline day departure of Alex Iwobi, one of Edu’s roles as technical director is to facilitate a path if the club believes a potential superstar is emerging in a specific position.

In Saka, we have a potential world-class winger who likes to operate from the left-wing, and it seems Iwobi was the fall guy to preserve the teenager’s development.

Everyone at the club will surely be keeping a keen eye on Nketiah’s experience at Elland Road under the tutelage of the manic Marcelo Bielsa.

Check out the forward’s goal in the video above after demonstrating some slick movement inside the box.
