Edu Visits Fluminense Training Ground, Leads To Andre Transfer Links

Edu paid a visit to Fluminense’s training ground…

Arsenal director Edu Gaspar visited Brazilian side Fluminense’s training ground this week which has predictably lead to transfer links for some of their top talents.

Flunminense notified the world of Edu’s visit through their social channels as they provided him with great hospitality, with the Série A club claiming that former Gunners star was there to admire their operation.

Edu has maintained a great relationships with Brazilian clubs since becoming Arsenal’s technical director in 2019, with his connections being formed in his previous role.

The ‘Invincible’ was the general manager of the Brazilian national team before returning to north London, and striking a solid understanding with his domestic clubs was a core part of his job description.

“I really liked everything presented to us here. It’s an impressive piece of work. The atmosphere at CT de Xerém is different”, Edu was quoted as saying.

While Edu’s trip may have been completely transparent and a light-hearted one, it has already sent tongues wagging and we’re now being heavily linked with Fluminense’s most prized assets.

According to Brazilian journalist Thiago Ferreira, Edu is eyeing a move for midfielder Andre and is looking to trump Liverpool for the 22-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were heavily linked with Andre during the summer window as a potential replacement for Fabinho, but a move never materialised.

The report above also claims that 17-year-old striker Kaua Elias is also on Edu’s list, though that seems like one for the future and a case of monitoring his development.

These rumours do, on the surface, seem conveniant and would likely have never surfaced had Fluminense decided against alerting the world of Edu’s visit.

I suspect that the nature of the trip is as they say and Edu is scouring the world in an attempt to improve every facet of the club and take tips from those he admires.
