Everton Make “Tentative Enquires” About Arsenal Star – Report

By The Editor

Everton are after Olivier Giroud…

Everton have made “tentative enquiries” regarding the availability of Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud as they look to strengthen their strike force, according to SkySportsNewsHQ’s Dharmesh Sheth.

Giroud, who only started 11 league games last season, has made it clear that he cannot accept another bit-part role next season ahead of the World Cup.

To make matters worse, Arsene Wenger has strengthened the squad with a striker who’s currently competing with Giroud for that France spot in Alexandre Lacazette.

Given that we’ve smashed our transfer record to land the former Lyon man, it seems inevitable that he’ll be handed a starting role up front for us.

Our system rarely allows room for two centre-forwards and while Giroud has been a sensational option from the bench, it seems he may want to seek a move away.

If we were to get £20million for a player in his 30s while also clearing his hefty wages off the books, I can see why Wenger may seem intrigued by that.

If we’re to hand Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil massive new contracts we certainly need to do a massive clear out first.

Check out the report in the video above.
