Mikael Silvestre names Wenger’s biggest flaw…
Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre believes that Arsene Wenger’s biggest flaw is that he isn’t ruthless enough with his own players.
Silvestre, who will justifiably go down as one of Wenger’s worst signings, feels that his compatriot allows players to get away with a considerable amount.
Referring to Wenger as “nice”, the former Manchester United star included himself in the batch of players the boss didn’t cast off for the good of the club.
“I think on some occasions, and I’ve been experiencing this with Arsene Wenger as a manager, he was not ruthless enough with the players,” Silvestre said.
“Me included, you know. You miss points and in the end, those points can cost you the title and trophies.
“That’s his personality as well, he’s respected and loved also because he’s nice.”
Silvestre is correct, Wenger’s lack of ruthlessness was typified by how long he persisted with the terrible French defender.
A period in which we suffered from limited financial resources, being put in a position where Silvestre seems like a credible option at centre-back happened due to Wenger’s ‘niceness’.
