Ex-Chelsea Boss Coy On Arsenal Links As Position Becomes Available

Carlo Ancelotti claims he wants back in management…

Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has remained coy on his link to the vacant manager’s job at Arsenal following Arsene Wenger’s decision to step down on Friday.

Ancelotti, who’s been out of work since being sacked by Bayern Munich earlier this season, has made no secret of his desire to return to England and build on his successful tenure at Chelsea.

The Italian won the double in his first season at the west London club and was prematurely sacked following a trophyless second campaign.

He’s arguably the most established manager available but his style isn’t too dissimilar to Wenger’s which would make any potential appointment rather baffling.

“The future of the manager doesn’t depend on the manager,” Ancelotti said as he prepares to take charge of charity game for UEFA involving some iconic football players.

“I can say I would like to work again, but that depends on me.

“If I find the right possibility, the right project, I would be delighted to continue.”

As the final weeks of the season draws to a close, I expect to hear many names throw their hat into the ring given how sought after the Arsenal job has been for a number of years.

We’re the biggest sleeping giants in Europe and any top coach worth their sorts would relish the chance of awakening us and bring the club back to where it belongs.
