Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner experienced a moment to forget for his current club Rosenborg in their Europa League defeat to Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg.
The Danish international plays a blind back-pass towards his goalkeeper only for Zenit forward Emiliano Rigoni to accept the gift and give the hosts a 3-0 lead.
Rosenborg now trail Zenit by six points and are heading out of the competition as things stand, and this moment from Bendtner couldn’t have helped.
Since ruining his final chance with us in 2014, Bendtner has been discarded by both Wolfsburg and Nottingham Forrest before landing at the Norwegian giants.
While his self-confidence may well be intact, the former Juventus loanee surely contemplates what could’ve been had he not thought his imagination was a reality.
Upon arriving at Arsenal in 2007 following a successful loan spell at Birmingham, the then 19-year-old starlet claimed he expected a starting spot in our team and that Thierry Henry was the only guaranteed starter – we still had Jose Reyes, Robin Van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor on our box.
That should’ve sent alarm bells ringing as to what we let ourselves in for, and Bendtner has been hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past decade.
Check out his latest mishap in the video above.
