Gary Neville has an issue with Gabriel’s behaviour…
Sky Sports pundit – and part-time disc jockey – Gary Neville claimed that he was uncomfortable watching Gabriel celebrate in Erling Haaland’s face during our 5-1 thrashing of Manchester City, he said on the Gary Neville Podcast.
The tension between the two began when the Norwegian striker threw a ball at the back of Gabriel’s head when Man City equalised against 10-man Arsenal in September.
On that occasion, Neville found the incident amusing and claimed it was the type of needle he wanted to see in the Premier League again.
The failed manager refused to provide context when voicing his displeasure towards Gabriel’s antics, almost attempting to frame it as a random act of aggression from the Arsenal man.
Neville was called out by journalist Charles Watts, who placed the pundit’s quotes side-by-side from both incidents and asked why he was being contradictory.

“Me and Carra laughed when we saw it because it’s funny (he did say it could have been a red card).”

The former Man Utd skipper will not answer for this given how scripted his appearances on TV are and the lack of those holding him accountable around him.
While his episodes on The Overlap feature Arsenal legend Ian Wright, we’ve seen that preserving his place in the punditry sphere is more important than fighting our corner.
