Arsenal’s new midfield hardman Granit Xhaka has revealed that he idolised Patrick Vieira growing up given their identical roles in the team.

Xhaka starred in Arsenal’s 3-1 win at Watford before the international break and looks like he’s beginning to stamp his authority on the English game.

With a wand of a left foot, Xhaka attempts to bring more creativity from a deep position, but he clearly has no problem putting a foot in.

His disciplinary record has been mentioned frequently, and it mirrors that of Vieira’s when he was in his prime. Let’s hope the trophies flow for Xhaka as they did for the impregnable Frenchman.
