Hector Bellerin reaffirms his commitment to Arsenal…

Hector Bellerin claims he’s always found rumours linking him with a move away from Arsenal a little “crazy” given that he signed a new six-year deal last November.

Bellerin has endured a tricky relationship with the fans over the past few years with his performances on the pitch dwindling after a promising start.

The Spaniard was ridiculed by the away section on a fateful night at Selhurst Park in 2017, with chants of ‘you’re not fit to wear the shirt’ aimed at Bellerin and others.

Despite his long-term contract, many felt that he would move on and after talk of a restricted budget which would only increase if players were sold, Bellerin’s future looked bleak.

However, the 23-year-old remains adamant that staying at the club was always his priority.

“It is crazy that people ask me these questions all the time,” he told reporters at our kit launch for their third strip (via HaytersTV).

“A few years ago I signed a very long-term contract. I have never said that I have wanted to be anywhere else.

“I am very happy in London. I am very happy at this club.

“The club have made me who I am and gave me the chance to be the footballer I am today. So I don’t want to be anywhere else.”

Following the arrival of Switzerland skipper Stephan Lichsteiner, Bellerin will finally have the competition he’s longed for since he broke into the side.

As for the future, Bellerin has a lot to improve on the pitch and hopefully, he lets his guard down and accepts that instead of being defensive when critiqued.
