Hector Bellerin: We Know We Can Beat Chelsea, We’ve Done It Before

Hector Bellerin looking to take cup form into Chelsea clash…

Hector Bellerin believes the Gunners can draw from our recent record against Chelsea to fuel their belief ahead our trip to Stamford Bridge.

As Bellerin cites, we’ve beaten Antonio Conte’s men in three of our last four meetings, with the most recent victory coming in the Community Shield in August.

Having said that, we haven’t avoided defeat at Stamford Bridge since 2011, suffering some heavy disappointments along the way.

After our horror show at Anfield last month, all eyes are on the players in terms of a reaction as we look to get our away form in the league back on track.

“We’re playing Chelsea and we’ve beaten them three times in the last four games, so we have a good record against them, but we know it’s always different playing at Stamford Bridge,” the Spaniard told Arsenal Player.

“They won the league last year so we obviously know they are a very strong team.

“With [Antonio] Conte there, they work really hard, they do very well tactically, so we have to be ready for the challenge and we know as a team we can beat them because we’ve done it before. Now it’s up to us to turn up and do things right.”

While Bellerin’s rallying cry is admirable, our players will never truly overcome this Stamford Bridge hoodoo unless we pick up three points there.

Just as we ended our inferiority complex at the Etihad Stadium, only comfortable wins will cure old wounds.
