Henry Winter launches a scathing attack on Arsenal after Bayern thrashing…

The Times’ football correspondent Henry Winter launched a scathing attack on Arsenal Football Club after our disastrous Champions League loss to Bayern Munich.

Labelling us the “laughing stock” of European football after such a soul-destroying defeat, Winter feels we’re a club drifting behind our rivals rapidly.

As well as Arsene Wenger, the esteemed journalist labelled his anger at majority owner Stan Kroenke who he feels is leading us down a cul de sac.

After going into the break level and with the all-important away goal in the bag courtesy of Alexis Sanchez, nobody could’ve foreseen what was to take place.

Skipper Laurent Koscielny was substituted at half-time with a muscular and all hell broke loose.

It was unacceptable, lacking in structure, and was a vindication to those who’re ardent in their belief that Arsenal lacks characters.

“The club have an owner in Stan Kroenke, who is silent, who doesn’t communicate with the fans, who is sleepwalking towards the abyss here,” Henry Winter told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“You’ve got a manager, in Arsene Wenger, whose best days are behind him. Everyone can see that.

“Even the faithful at Arsenal see that this is a manager who has been overtaken by the Contes and the Klopps.”

It’s hard to argue with Henry Winter’s assessment of the state we’re in, and what’s even more baffling is that he seems to be the only mainstream voice brave enough to say it.
