Ian Wright Leaves Twitter After Receiving Abuse From Fans – AFTV Discusses

By The Editor
on 23rd June 2016

Arsenal icon Ian Wright recently announced that he’ll no longer be posting on Twitter after receiving a substantial amount of abuse from fans.

Despite his allegiances, it seems that the source of that abuse was Arsenal fans on social media and it seems as though our second highest goalscorer of all time has had enough.

Unlike many other football royalties on Twitter, Wrighty always engaged with fans no matter their social following which is a testament to his character. We always felt he was ‘for the people’, and the BT Sport pundit lived up to that image during his stint on Twitter.

ArsenalFanTV’s Robbie interviews the host of the Ball Street podcast Matt Wilson – which has featured Ian Wright on a few occasions – regarding the impact abuse on Twitter has had on the former England international.

Check out their interesting exchange in the clip above.
