Arsenal forward Reiss Nelson made it clear that he remains a Gunners player despite starting his loan spell at Hoffenheim in devastating fashion, Bundesliga.com reports.

Nelson has netted four goals in five games for Hoffenheim, while the forward also scored two wonder-goals for England U21 during the international break.

The 18-year-old signed a new long-term contract before he departed the club in August, ending prolonged speculation surrounding his future.

Ever since Thierry Henry gave him a cosign in 2017, many have felt that Nelson was going to be the most exciting talent emerging from our academy in recent years.

His direct play and rapid pace in possession of the ball is something we desperately need, and Nelson has made it clear that he’s at Hoffenheim to gain experience.

“At the moment I’m very happy here,” Nelson was quoted as saying.

“I’m playing, I’m scoring, but I’m an Arsenal player at the end of the day, so I have to stay and do my job here, then wherever football takes me I’ll go.”

This comes as a response to rumours that Nelson may seek a permanent stay in Germany, something which clearly wasn’t part of the plan once he signed a new deal.

Nelson will be back to take over the Premier League *crosses fingers*.
