Jack Wilshere boasts that his fitness levels are statistically up…
Jack Wilshere stated that he feels like an Arsenal again for the first time in a while having experienced a season-long loan spell at Bournemouth and a number of injury setbacks.
Wilshere spent last season on loan at the south coast club in a bid to prove his fitness on a weekly basis in the Premier League, something he was on course to achieve before suffering a fractured fibula in April.
The 25-year-old first start before this season came on the final day of the 2015/16 campaign due to another fracture suffered days before the Community Shield clash against Chelsea in 2015.
Wilshere suffered constant setbacks and what was initially described as a straight-forward injury turned into a season-ending fracture.
However, back after a solid pre-season, Wilshere has started a few cup games and is raring to go ahead of arguably his most important campaign to date.
“It’s the best feeling, that’s what I’ve always known,” Wilshere told Arsenal Player when asked how it felt to be part of the group once again.
“It’s been years since I can say that I’ve been fit and available to play for Arsenal.
“That’s coming back and my fitness levels, if I’m honest, are probably the best they’ve ever been. I look at my numbers after the game and I’ve been out for four months and I’m not the one who hasn’t run the most,” Wilshere added.
Every Arsenal fan would like nothing more than to see Jack succeed at the club, he’s one of us.
Having said that, he must prove that he can remain fit and available for a considerable amount of time before being offered a new lucrative deal.
