Jack Wilshere believes Salah is one to watch out for…
Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere believes that the club have a number of talented players coming through the academy and namechecked Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand as one to watch out for, Stadium Astro reports.
Wilshere, who knows that journey from Hale End to the Arsenal first-team all too well, had been training with the Arsenal squad for the past few months.
The 30-year-old was invited back to the club by his former teammate Mikel Arteta to aid his bid to find a new club, something he achieved last month by signing for Danish Superliga side AGF Arhus.
With Arteta regularly inviting U23 players to train with the first team, Wilshere was well placed to witness what the future holds for the club and he was impressed by a few names.
“I don’t want to tell you about a player who I think is really good then put pressure on him and it doesn’t work out,” Wilshere said reluctantly.
“But there’s a few in the academy. The fans will watch the under-23s and know about Charlie Patino, who got his chance.
“But then there are other players out there, there’s a boy called Salah who is really good coming through. There’s a lot of players in that group who are technically very, very good.
“To play for Arsenal you have to be technically very good,” the former England star added.
Salah, as he’s commonly referred to, joined the club in 2020 after a small stint at Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven and has certainly impressed the coaching staff at the Emirates.
Arteta has included the playmaker in a number of matchday squads and pointed to his work in training as the reason behind those call-ups.
The lack of European football has certainly halted the potential minutes some of these promising starts could’ve enjoyed, but that will surely come in the near future.
