Jack Wilshere: These Qualities Make Mesut Ozil A Special Player

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been talking up our Player of the Season Mesut Ozil and claimed that there are a few qualities which separate the German from his competitors.

Ozil notched up 20 assists in all competitions for Arsenal, making him one of Europe’s most efficient midfielders and Wilshere is keen to learn from the man himself.

Arsene Wenger has often deployed Wilshere in the No.10 role in place of Ozil, and the 24-year-old wants to add vision and calmness to his own game.

“He sees things other players don’t see,” Wilshere told Arsenal Player.

“When everything is happening around him, he’s always got his head up and he’s calm.”

Wilshere has often been criticised for inviting too much pressure when he’s in possession of the ball, a theory many believe is the cause of all his injuries.

If he can add the awareness which allows him more time on the ball, Wilshere will certainly improve as a player.
