Joachim Low flew into London to meet Per Mertesacker and was hoping to see Ozil…

Germany head coached Joachim Ozil moaned to the media after he failed to secure a meeting with Mesut Ozil during his visit to London, claiming that the Gunners man refused to see him, Sport360TV reports.

Ozil quit the German national team in the aftermath of the World Cup as the former champions crashed out at the group stage, leading to the Gunners star burdening the majority of the blame.

The criticism shifted from football and was surrounded around politics with many racial undertones being labelled at the Arsenal playmaker.

His commitment to his country was questioned following the infamous picture he took with President Erdogan of Turkey on the eve of the World Cup.

Ozil called out the German FA (DFB) for what he deemed political agendas disguised as genuine football analysis and retired from international football on the grounds of racism.

Despite the Arsenal man claiming Low was exempt from his claims and that he valued his support, the World Cup-winning coach defied Ozil’s claims and referred to them as an “exaggeration”.

Now, following a trip to London, Low claims Ozil refused to meet him.

“Mesut was not there, and thus we must accept it that he currently does not want to talk to us,” Low told reporters.

“I don’t know the reasons. I would have wished that a player with whom I worked with for such a long period would call me, even if it’s only for a minute.

“Especially given it’s Mesut, that’s weird. And, sure, I am disappointed after working together for such a long time.”

I don’t know, Low, maybe it’s got something to do with you dismissing the discrimination he experienced? And if Ozil doesn’t want to meet you, that’s his prerogative – cut out the entitlement.
